How is “Net Family Property” (NFP) calculated?

To find your NFP, you take your total assets on the Date of Separation and subtract your debts on that same day. Then, you subtract your “Date of Marriage” value (assets minus debts you brought into the marriage). The result is the value you “built” during the relationship. This is the number used for equalization.
